TEEN MOTOCROSS RACER ASHLEY FIOLEK NAMED 2009 PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Award Presented By The Touchdown Club of Columbus
Ashley Fiolek began riding motorcycles when she was only seven years old. It took her only 10 years to become the best in her sport, and in 2009--at the age of 18--she again won the WMA Pro National Championship. But it didn't come easy for Ashley, who clinched the title only after suffering a collarbone fracture in the final race. She finished the race and still made it to the podium with her team. Earlier last Summer, Ashley also scored her first gold medal at the 15th X-Games and inked a lucrative multi-year deal with Honda Red Bull Racing.
Adding to her amazing success, Ashley is, as she describes herself, "profoundly deaf" since birth. The Touchdown Club of Columbus has named Ashley Fiolek the 2009 Professional Female Athlete of the Year, and will honor her achievements during their 55th Annual Sports Awards Banquet on Saturday, February 6, 2010 in Downtown Columbus, Ohio.

Lewis not only shattered Big East freshman rushing
records, but is poised to break the school record
established by the great Tony Dorsett before the season

TOUCHDOWN
CLUB TO HONOR KEN SCHNACKE AND THE COLUMBUS CLIPPERS
When baseball returned to Columbus in
1977, the Clippers' home was the newly renovated
Franklin County Stadium, which became affectionately
known as "The Coop" (Cooper Stadium). Fast
forward to 2009 and the opening of Huntington Park in
The Arena District to see just how far the organization
has come. Huntington Park was recently named
"Ballpark of the Year," and the inaugural
season within the confines of the beautiful downtown
facility produced record attendance numbers which led
the minor leagues. There has been one consistent
explanation for the Clippers' success since
1977...President and General Manager Ken Schnacke. Ken
has been in the front office since the beginning, and
has witnessed countless superstars passing through
Columbus on their way to the Major Leagues. He has been
at the wheel of the Clippers' ship that has maintained
its course through several storms to establish itself as
the class of minor league baseball. So it's time to
acknowledge his hard work and dedication when the
Touchdown Club of Columbus presents an Award of
Distinction to Ken Scnacke and the Columbus Clippers on
Saturday, February 6, 2010.
